Capacity by Onye Ndika

There are many things that come to mind when considering the meaning of capacity. For some of us, capacity speaks of the ability to endure or effect change. When I think of capacity, I imagine the ability for a wide open space to be filled. The numeric measurement of a room, or a container, reveals its ability to house people or items. In the realms of interior and industrial design, a room's capacity denotes the number of people that can be housed in a space, comfortably and with room for safe movement, entry & egress. But how do we judge capacity from a spiritual perspective? God calls us to be people who, with the help of the Holy Spirit, should demonstrate the love of God without limit or hesitation. Jesus declared that we would do greater works than He did on earth; the caveat being that it would require us to lean entirely on the Holy Spirit to work through us, a surrendered Body. Recently, Bishop Andrea instructed us by way of declaration: I have the capacity to understand spiritual things. So God, in His infinite love, wisdom and knowledge of our human frailty, gave us the Resource above all resources: His own Spirit! Just as quickly as you can search Google for any and every available answer, the Holy Spirit searches the mind of God to bring to us the answers we seek. And God shows us things fenced in and hidden, secret things, concepts we would be unable to discern or fathom in the absence of divine help (See Jeremiah 33:3 AMP). As such, we have been empowered to answer God-sized assignments, fulfil our divine purpose, and be answers to the world's numerous problems. With such internal capacity, we can be confidently ready for any challenge. We can overcome every obstacle, knowing that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us.
